What Sightline Is

A market for the intellectually honest

Punditry is free. Sightline costs you something — which is why it's worth something. Every position you take is a verifiable claim you're willing to back with real money.

Real-time crowd intelligence

Thousands of traders synthesize more information than any analyst or newsroom can. Sightline surfaces that consensus as a live probability — updated by the second as new information breaks.

US-regulated, not offshore

Sightline operates under US regulatory oversight. No crypto wallets, no offshore accounts. Your funds are held in segregated accounts and every market settles in US dollars.

Markets

Every major event. One authoritative probability.

Politics, economics, sports, science — Sightline covers the events that shape outcomes. Each market is curated, contextualized, and resolved against unambiguous criteria. No gray areas at settlement.

Will the Fed cut rates before September?

48%

Futures traders are pricing in a 52% chance the Fed holds at the September meeting. Inflation data released last week came in above consensus at 3.2%, reducing the committee's room to maneuver. The July jobs report is the next critical data point.

Intelligence

Context behind every position. Not just a price.

Every Sightline market ships with an editorial brief: the key variables, relevant data sources, and what a probability move actually signals. You trade with conviction, not guesswork.

  • Editorial briefs on every active market
  • Probability history and key inflection points annotated
  • Position commentary from top traders, shown with their track record

Compliance

Real money. Real oversight. No workarounds.

The prediction market space has a credibility problem. Offshore platforms skip regulation. Crypto platforms obscure fees. Sightline is built from the ground up to operate transparently under US oversight — because that's the only way to build something worth trusting.

  • No crypto wallets required — USD deposits and withdrawals
  • Segregated user funds — your money never funds operations
  • Transparent fee structure, published before you trade

US Regulatory Oversight

Markets operate under applicable US financial regulations with full compliance protocols.

Segregated Account Structure

User funds are held in segregated accounts separate from company operations at all times.

Transparent Fee Structure

All fees are published and fixed before any market opens. No hidden charges at settlement.

Clear Resolution Criteria

Every market defines its resolution source and criteria before trading begins. No ambiguity at settlement.

The Sightline Principle

Skin-in-the-game forecasting is more honest than opinion. The crowd that bets correctly wins money. The crowd that bets incorrectly loses it. That accountability is what makes prediction markets worth reading.

How It Works

From question to conviction in four steps.

Sightline is built for traders who do their homework. Here is what the experience looks like from deposit to payoff.

Create your account

Sign up with your email, complete US identity verification, and fund your account via ACH or debit card. No crypto wallet. No offshore account. Your funds sit in a segregated USD account from day one.

Find a market worth trading

Browse markets by category — politics, economics, sports, science. Each market includes Sightline's editorial brief: the key variables, data sources, and probability history. Read the context, form your view, size your position.

Take a position

Buy YES or NO contracts at the current market price. Prices move between $0.01 and $0.99 — a YES contract at 62 cents pays $1.00 if correct. You can hold to resolution or trade out of your position as the probability moves.

Collect your winnings

When the event resolves, correct positions pay out $1.00 per contract. Winnings credit to your account immediately and can be withdrawn via ACH. Being right pays — directly and in US dollars.

FAQ

Questions worth answering directly.

Is Sightline legal in the United States?

Sightline operates under applicable US financial regulations. Unlike offshore prediction market platforms, Sightline is built to comply with US oversight requirements. The regulatory landscape for prediction markets continues to evolve, and Sightline's compliance team monitors it actively. Eligible US residents can create an account and trade.

Do I need cryptocurrency to use Sightline?

No. Sightline is a dollar-denominated platform. You deposit and withdraw via ACH bank transfer or debit card. There is no crypto wallet requirement and no need to convert to or from cryptocurrency at any point.

How does a market resolve?

Every Sightline market publishes its resolution criteria and the authoritative source before trading opens. When the event occurs, the platform resolves the market against that pre-stated source. There is no subjective judgment at resolution — the criteria are set in advance and applied literally.

What happens to my money if I lose?

If your position resolves incorrectly, your contracts expire at $0.00. The counterparty who took the opposite side earns $1.00 per contract. Your remaining account balance is unaffected and can be withdrawn at any time.

Can I exit a position before the event resolves?

Yes. As long as there are other traders willing to buy, you can sell your contracts at any time at the current market price. If the probability has moved in your favor since you entered, you can lock in a gain before resolution.

Who is Sightline designed for?

Sightline is built for intellectually curious American adults who follow politics, economics, sports, and current events closely. If you believe media punditry is cheap talk and that real conviction deserves real consequences, Sightline was designed for you.
